3 yo nose picking- please advise

Help me mamas! 

My son has been picking his nose since November. It's starting to drive me nuts. We've been to the doctor, and there's nothing in there. I thought it would go away when the warm weather came, and yes, it subsided a bit, but now he's back at it again. The other day I found him sitting reading a book, and painting his face with boogies. Ick. 

At first I left it alone, thinking it was something he would work through, but my husband began telling him to stop and I guess I just followed along. It's everywhere now, at the playground, at gym class, and I am starting to lose my patience. It's an issue of picking up germs from others, and of course getting his own boogies all over everything else. I have provided him with a nice little basket of soft cloth tissues (old cut-up tee shirts) and told him how to blow his nose and what not, and for what it's worth, we neti about 3x a week. 

What ese can I do? Has anyone been here?

I don't really have any advice ... just wanted to reassure you that you are not alone.  My dd will be 3 in August and has been picking her nose for about a month.  Not only does she pick her nose but she eats her boogies.  I have no idea where she learned that?? Honestly, the nose picking doesn't bother me .. I think it is pretty normal but the eating the boogies is something I would like her not to do but I am not sure how to go about stopping her since she says they taste yummy.  If your fear is germs, I would think that he is getting a lot more germs in other ways.  I wouldn't worry about it that much ... but that's just me.  Good luck mama.

Anytime DS was picking his nose I would give him a kleenex and say "oh it looks like you need a tissue", than I told him to go wash his hands. Seemed to help.
