so, I've been thinking things have been happening a little early this pregnancy, showing, fetal movement, etc..... and we measured my belly yesterday and while I thought I was 32 weeks, I'm measuring 36weeks. Â I'm not really a big girl or anything so my size couldn't be what's causing the larger measurement.... and i was just getting back into my cycles while nursing when i conceived and the last period i remember was only a day or two of very light spotting which could have been implantation bleeding I suppose. Â My cervix is softening and moving anterior as well....not to mention braxton hicks increasing in frequency and intensity over the past couple of weeks and I'm definitely nesting..... should I start preparing for a baby sooner? any thoughts?

I'm not a pro but if you went into labor 4 weeks from now I would probably just accept it and not stop it. I feel like 38 weeks is safe for UC but if your measuring that big maybe UC at 36 weeks. how many kids do you have? I've heard moms of many (2+) say they feel braxton hicks much earlier. no advice on the cervix changes
I know with my second, I ended up having her three weeks "early" but she was totally full term. Â I had what I thought was a period that must have been spotting. Â When we realized I was measuring large we did test for gestational diabetes, and once that was ruled out I went back and poured over my calender to try and figure out what was actually my last period. I also had an ultrasound to estimate her gestational age.
Â
Because of all that, my midwives and I just figured I had a due month, instead of a due date.

With my daughter i started to measure ahead at around 32wks and at 35wks i measured 40wks, the day she was born was gonna be my next appointment and if i was still measuring large i was gonna have a u/s to see why the sudden and big jump in fundal measurement.  She was born at 35wks6days weighing 7lbs13oz 20"  i knew my dates because i was charting.Â

I'd prepare for baby to arrive earlier.

I measured 10cms, or more at times, ahead during my last pregnancy. After having an u/s (which I didn't really want) to find out if it was twins and seeing only one baby, I decided not to have fundal height measured anymore. I had my DD about 39w4d, she was 8#1oz.

I am measuring ahead this pregnancy as well... Not sure why I keep doing that to myself! LOL! Although, it is always better to be prepared for an early arrival!
Â
Good luck!
