Howdy. I'm looking for a midwife in the area that will come to our home in West County. I know there are a few kicking around and they all look great on their websites, but I'm interested in hearing personal opinions. If you used a local midwife *PLEASE* PM and let me know 1. your opinion of her skills/bedside manner, 2. what you did/did not like about having her at your birth and 3. if you would use her again.

As for me, I'm really hopeful to have someone that will do all the prenatals *and* birth (I am NOT interested in having to do the rounds with her assistants and/or get someone I haven't met at my door the night I'm in labor). My perfect birth would be me and my old man in a room by ourselves while the midwife waited until after the birth to enter the room. Know anybody that would work for us?

Oh, I'm going to continue with my OB's care through, at least, the u/s so it will be covered by insurance...so I need someone that isn't feeling "challenged" by dual-coverage care.
