homebirth midwives in Brattelboro, VT area?

Any recommendations for a homebirth midwife in the Brattleboro area? TIA!

Right now the midwives who are working in the Brattleboro area doing home births are Anji Church(Me), Mary Lawlor, Helena Wu, Patti Brinster Watson these names can be googled or you can email me for more info as I have all contact info for both VT and NH midwives. There are also some MA midwives who are licensed in VT but I do not see them listed on the website so do not want to list them incase they are no longer licensed. It is important to create a list of questions important to you, and make an appointment to interview the midwif and get a feel for her style of service. Most midwives do a "meet and greet" appointment for free to allow the woman to see if there is a good fit. Personalities matter in birth, so you want to make sure you feel your questions are answered and you feel like you are compatable as well as your partner feeling comfortable as their discomfort with the provider can effect you if you are picking up on negative energy during your birth.. Here is the VT Midwives website.

Thanks!  I found the listings.  I was hoping some people who had experiences with different midwives might share their thoughts.

Thanks for the ideas!

My midwives are in Greenfield MA, if you are willing to drive that far pm me for more details.

Oh and they are lovely. I drove up from Springfield (about 45 min) even though we have a ton of midwives in the Pioneer Valley area because they are amazing.

Thanks!  I should say this is actually for my sister.  I will pass along this idea.  Greenfield is not very far.

I did not mention the Greenfield Midwives because they may not be licesnsed in Vermont...please be careful with any names as midwives practicing unlicensed  in states that require a license man want to remain unnamed.

Mary Lawlor helped me catch my son, and I adore her!!

Annique Samson was her assistant back then (2005) and she's lovely, too!

He was my second baby, and I knew exactly what I wanted (and did not want) from them.

They listened carefully, then followed my wishes to a T. His birth was just incredible- and very healing after our daughter's difficult birth with another caregiver.

They have a birthing center right outside of Keene, NH, but last I knew, also did prenatal visits in Brattleboro.

Congratulations to your sister, and good luck!

It's true, there's nothing like meeting people face to face, but some word of mouth background always helps!

Thanks!  My sister met with Anji Church, who posted above, and felt she was a great fit.  I actually used to live in Brat. and had Mary L. for my midwife with my first.  I think the birthing center must be new?  Anyway, it's great that there are choices.
