My dd will be 3 in August and has recently been only napping for an hour or hour and half at most. Â I am not sure if this is just a normal progression at this point or something else? Â Anybody else experience this around this age? Â Does it mean she is getting close to dropping her nap? Â Or is it just a phase? Â Thanks for your wisdom ladies:)

Only napping 1 - 1.5 hours all of a sudden?
You can't be sure but it sounds like she is probably getting closer to dropping it.  How long did she used to nap? My DS turned 3 in April and he rarely naps anymore. The only time he naps anymore is in my room and that doesn't happen every day. He won't even let me put him in his own room for a nap now. He'll really only nap for an hour now, the most, if at all, and that's only if we did a lot of running around outside that day or I tired him out a lot (which is hard to do!!) I was sad to see that 1 to 1 1/2 nap disappear
Your DD may teter back and forth with her nap schedule a bit for a while though. I remember my son did. Some days he would nap for 2 hours and then some days just 1 hour, and then it slowly starting dissipating. Then again, all kids are different and it could be a phase but I think around 3 is when they get closer to losing it. Just be lucky she's still napping at all!! ![]()
