Hi! I’m Jane. My husband Shane and I are planning a Koi Assisted Water birth for our son, due October 4, 2011. I’ve gotten a few questions, so I thought I’d put together a website.

I just peed myself a little bit at your sheer awesomeness.  Seriously, so much more entertaining spiritual than a dolphin assisted birth.

I honestly think this is fish abuse. As proud animal and per guardian of many years I am terrified.

First, you are going to distrupt your fish living environment. Imagine yourself sitting in you beloved garden and then some force pulls out all the plants and you are left In a desolated yard?

Secondly, you are going to force unnecessary medical interventions on them. IT is one thing if fish is sick with fungus and totally other if they do not. We have no idea what they feel when treated.

Thirdly, you are invading their living space. Imagine sitting In a your living room and then some allien drop out of the sky and births their offspring on your rug without asking first or speaking your language?

Fourth, who know chemicals in amniotic fluids, bloody show etc will do to this fish?

Why not leave the poor koi alone and just get a birthing pool?  I do not see how disturbing your fish is going to be spiritual, gentle or kind.

I thought it sounds interesting but then  this is kind of offenseive that you said this about unassisted births. You could have just put no i'll have a midwife.

I’m not stupid. Midwife attended births are safer than unassisted births.

I showed this to my husband... he is convinced because of that sentence it's a joke.  I don't think it's a joke, but, I am a little confused over how a laboring/ just-gave-birth woman could get over the high sides of the tank?
