Have any of you had an obviously Triphasic chart and *not* been pregnant?

Anyone here had an extremely triphasic chart and turned out to *not* be pregnant at all?  i.e. a difference of around 0.4 degrees or more from the second thermal shift to the third?  My chart looks like it is going triphasic, and I am starting to become obsessive, but I don't want to jinx myself.

My chart is doing the same thing and I am doing the same obsessing! TCOYF has an example of a triphasic chart and makes the offhand comment: "Marcia (or whatever the woman's name was) had a good idea she was pregnant at 9dpo when her chart became triphasic..." That is giving me hope despite my bfn at 10 dpo today.

Fingers crossed for both of us!!

WILD! Our charts are VERY similar if you do a chart overlay!  How exciting!  Best of luck to you! :)  Keep me posted about symptoms and whatnot.

Another high temp, another bfn. I'm 11 dpo, still too early??

It might be, depending on what test you are using.  I have another high day too (highest yet)!  Crazy!  I took a test with FMU this morning, thinking maybe I could see the tiniest hint of a line, and nothing.  But I realized before I took it that it is the PINK handled Wondfo tests, which apparently aren't supposed to be effective until AFTER missing AF.  *headdesk*  I ordered them from Amazon a few months ago, and apparently they sent me the wrong ones - were supposed to be the Early Detection ones.  Plus - the OPKs they sent me in the same pack were complete duds - I got very clear, obvious positives on CBE digital OPKs when the control lines barely even showed on the Wondfo OPKs.  Ugh.

Anyway, IDK if I should wait or run out and get some Dollar Tree tests.  What do you think?  :)   I think you should test again tomorrow, especially if this chart looks unusual for you! :)

I have had some charts that looked triphasic but were not pregnancy charts, but I would be pretty excited if I were you ladies, too!  First Response Early Response tests... go get them!  The idea behind a triphasic chart is that it jumps up after implantation, which  happens between 6 and 12 DPO.  jlmschirm, yours looks especially promising as your jump occurred around 8 DPO.  filadeluna, your occurred around 5 DPO, which is a bit early for implantation, though I'm not saying it's not what happened.   At any rate both of you are several days past your triphasic spikes so theoretically hCG has been building for a couple days.  Sometimes the embryo produces low levels of hCG so it could take several days to get up to the level necessary to test positive on certain tests.  FRER needs a level of 25 vs. other tests that need 50 or 100.   Good luck ladies!!

I am also using Internet cheapies, with the pink handles that say hcg...not sure of the brand. I bet that's the issue. I need to get a FRER, just hate to spend the $$ I'm so cheap :-) I wish I could just be patient. But it does look promising doesn't it?!? Fingers crossed for both of us!

Yeah, I guess mine isn't triphasic afterall.  Guess there's no chance now.  I'm freakin' depressed.  Stupid temperatures teasing me like this! guilty.gif

Don't be depressed!  No AF yet right?   This is not an exact science so if your O occurred prior to your temp spike (IOW you had a slow reaction to progesterone) your implantation day could be where the triphasic spike is- making you actually farther into your LP than you appear.   You don't know til you know.  winky.gif   Triphasic patterns are not that common either so it's certainly not a requirement for pregnancy!  Take heart and keep temping!

What does IOW mean?  Thanks!  I am just in a really bitchy mood today.  Blah.

Sorry... I keep using acronyms people don't know!  It means "in other words."

There's definitely still hope and your chart looks awesome! I caved and bought FRERs (the one that supposedly works 6 days early) on my break.  Took one using 4th urine of the day, diluted with two glasses of water and coffee...bfn. The pack has two more tests so tomorrow at 12dpo, I would expect to get a positive with fmu since it says 100% of testers had an accurate result 4 days before expected period. Fingers crossed.

It is hard not to get discouraged.  When TTC, in the span of 24 hours I think I feel every single emotion possible - the highest of highs, the lowest of lows. That in and of itself is exhausting.  Today I am physically experiencing very sensitive nipples, a constant "lump in my throat, carsick-like" feeling that goes away for a bit if I eat a snack but comes right back, and a headache/fatigue (but I didn't sleep hardly at all last night so I think that is part of those two things). Since the tests aren't detecting any hcg it makes me think these symptoms are totally my imagination.  But who knows...

Well...looks like I'm down for the count greensad.gif HUGE temp drop this morning and a BFN on a FRER...so that pretty much seals my fate. Super disappointed doesn't even begin to describe it...I really thought this was our month. Oh well...

jlmschrim- sorry about the temp drop and the BFN!  While it's not encouraging news, you're not out until full on AF arrives. You might get some spotting especially with that temp drop, but I'll Peace.gif that's all you get.

Jaimee - Thanks so much for the encouragement. I was so hopeful this cycle. Started bleeding today. :-( more than what I'd consider spotting...it's bright red. So I'm pretty sure it's the real deal. Really disappointed...but we did all we could, I'm confident in my O date...just not my month :-(

I'm so sorry, jlmschirm. hug.gif  If it makes you feel any better, I got a BFN today @10dpo.  :(     I added you as a friend on FF, btw.

Yes, several times. I tend to have a dip mid-LP, shoot up about .2-.4 above my early LP temps, drop 2 days before AF, shoot back up, and don't get below coverline until CD2 or 3.
