Help! Green poop...oversupply? Dairy allergies? Planets not aligned??

At my sons 1 month checkup, literally as we took his diaper off to put him on the scale I noticed he had pooped green.  Ped said not to worry (though up to this point we were all mustardy-yellow) and sent us on our way.  We have had green poops ever since!

I started immediately block feeding, which never got us completely back to yellow but wavered a bit.  That didn't seem to be working, so I stopped that - we then got lots of green slimy poops, and frequently (he's always been a frequent pooper).  I cut dairy out, nothing.  I went back to block feeding and saw a reduction in slimy poops, though they are still green.  In fact, he's sort of reduced his pooping overall.

I'm inclined to think I need to keep up with the block feeding, and I'm wondering if the slowing down of poops is a good thing since he was getting a little red from going all the time.  I did see small spots of blood (which ped said not to worry about), which had made me think "dairy" but after reading on LLL it seems that oversupply can cause the green slimy poops a lot, which can irritate the bum and cause that.

He isn't coughing or choking or pulling off, though I do "spray" if he pulls off while eating.  I don't think I have OALD, and really, when I pump I'm getting maybe 1.5oz from each breast, so is that really oversupply?  He has his 2 month checkup on Friday - is otherwise happy, not overly fussy or anything....HELP!  How do I get back to the yellow poops??

It can be a foremilk/hindmilk issue - your babe is not getting the hindmilk that is thicker and fattier and more of the foremilk which is waterier and sweeter:  Here are two links that may help you figure it out.  Good luck!

I had a terrible oversupply problem with my first child. I finally had to block feed like 6 hours at a time on each breast, or it could have been even longer, for a pretty long time before things got settled down. And it wasn't easy - the other breast would get engorged, but of course that's how they learned to make less. But wow it made a huge difference when my supply went down a bit. I would keep block feeding and maybe increase the amount of time between switching breasts.
