Adult ADHD?

Anyone have this?  What are your symptoms?

I haven't been diagnosed but all the little online screening tests point to ADHD. Probably inattentive-type. I complained to my doctor so she recommended that I switch my antidepressants to a different brand that is often used off-label to treat ADHD. So now I just need to be able to afford those meds...

--often have trouble wrapping up the final details of a project once the challenging parts have been done.
--often have difficulty getting things in order when having to do a task that requires organization.
--occasionally have problems remembering appointments or obligations.
--often avoid or delay getting started on a task that requires a lot of thought.
--VERY often fidget or squirm with hands or feet when sitting down for a long time--I'm doing it right now! My knee just won't stop bouncing.
--VERY often make careless mistakes when having to work on a boring or difficult project--I'm worried this'll cost me my job. :(
--often have difficulty keeping attention when doing boring or repetitive work.
--occasionally have difficulty concentrating on what people say to me.
--often are you distracted by activity or noise--I can't stand being in a room with someone who is watching TV!

I think I might have more of the symptoms except that I've internalized coping strategies (e.g. losing things, interrupting people).

I have a lot of those symptoms too.

My dh had a lot of ADD symptoms as does our 17 yo dd.  I can tell him something 15 times but he doesn't get it until I put it in writing.  Him having a work Blackberry has actually helped imensely.  I can put events into outlook at my work and send them to him.  When his butt vibrates he knows he has something to do.  Often he needs to stay at work longer because he's gotten distracted.

Before we put our dd on meds we each took one - he said he had the best day ever but won't continue to take them (getting his own prescription).  He recently started on DHA and believes it's helping.

Just realized that you wanted symptoms:

I can tell him something that is going on with family and unless it's in writing he never remembers.  For ex our son has camp for 3 weeks - he went for a week, dh was gone for a week - he had no clue this morning why I was up so early.

He is horrible at names faces.  Our kids can be in an activity for years and he doesn't remember the parents/kids names for at least 3 years.

As an adult he has learned to partially compensate by putting things in specific places so they don't get lost.  This has caused him to be somewhat rigid about things.

He can't plan a family vacation and rarely helps.  He just can't get the pieces to fit together re: days/times.  Is totally fine (most of the time) with me telling him where we are going and when.  Which gets tireing for me.

He will get so wrapped up in a social event (usually work related) that he won't call me. A couple weeks ago they finished a large project and went out after work.  Totally fine with me except he didn't tell me and left his family phone in the car.  I had been texting him every 20 minutes for about 4 hours when I finally e-mailed his work phone at 10 saying I was going to start calling the police stations if I didn't hear from him.  He was totally fine, it just "slipped his mind".

I will start a project that he is invited to join but he doesn't want to.  Half way through he wants to re-design and take over once I've done the difficult bits.

We'll be married 20 years on Wednesday and I love him to bits but man does some of this stuff make me CRAZY!
