dd is 7 months old now. I have had the placenta all this time. what should I do with it? what can I do with an old placenta.

yes they let me take my placenta after my c/s. i had a great midwife.I was thinking of planting a tree or bush in my mother in laws yard. I was thinking of eating some of it... I have been feeling really down.

anyone know if its too old to eat?

and should I let it defrost before I buried it? it would be neat to look at it again.

I wouldn't eat anything that had been in my freezer for seven months. Thawing would be fine before planting. Or not, whichever you prefer. Maybe make some prints with it before burial?

It loses it great hormonal balancing qualities after about 2 months so I'm not sure that it's really worth eating at this point.  Mine is still in my freezer too... almost 18 months now.  I had plans to eat it, then plans to bury it, and now we're moving so I'm glad I didn't bury it.  My plan now is to defrost, bake (200 degrees over night), crush (in sturdy bag with a rock), and put into a jar for transport.  I'll store it until  we buy a house in our new location and bury it there.  At least that's the current plan.   lol.gif
