Hi everyone,Â
Â
My husband, 9 y/o dd and I just moved back to the Canby area (Whiskey Hill) after living in inner SE Portland for the last 6 years. We are living on my family's large farm which is beautiful and has so much room for dd to play and roam, but we are feeling a bit of culture shock and would love to connect with other families that are of the more crunchy persuasion...
Â
A bit about us: I am self employed as a seamstress making cloth menstrual pads and am also a fiber artist, metalsmith and painter. We are into lots of the usual crunchy sort of things - running our old Mercedes on WVO, natural living, organic local foods, anti-consumerism, homebirth (we are expecting our 2nd child in December), freecycling, doing/making for ourselves whatever we can, livestock and butchering, etc. I got to put in a huge garden this year and am looking forward to doing lots of canning and drying. We moved back out to the country to have the space and resources to convert a diesel schoolbus to run on WVO and build it as an offgrid motorhome so we can go nomadic for a couple of years and see the country. Eventually we would like to find a good community to homestead/offgrid in.
Â
I would just love to meet some other like-minded mamas/families so dd can connect with other kids, so that we can have someone to share some of the summer activities/projects with, and possibly for sewing/knitting circle type meet ups if anyone is interested.Â
