I am living in Texas with my husband and daughter. My daughters "father" moved to Maui a year ago and has not paid child support in over a year. Hasn't seen her in a year and calls whenever he feels  like it. (usually one in the morning) My husband makes plenty of money to take care of us so "father'" says i don't need his child support and he doesn't need to pay. Well he is now 3000 dollars behind and the attorney general is aggressively pursuing him to get the money  he owes me and the state of Texas. He called two days ago with the news that he may face jail time and has now agreed to turn over his rights. I am going to the law library to print out the affidavit to relinquish his right. All i need to do is fill it out, mail it to him, he mails it back, i pay court fees to process and its done. They said no court appearance should be necessary since it is consensual. Hope this helps one of ya'll.Â
