My plan for amalgam removal--Looking for input

I am planning on having my one and only amalgam removed in just over two weeks. It is old and my dentist says it needs to be removed. Luckily this comes upon just having finished nursing after 6.5 years, with no plan for more children--so I am only concerned with an impact on myself.

I have been reading many posts here and researching elsewhere and have begun to develop my plan. I would love some input, and have a few questions. I do not believe that my dentist follows, to the letter, holistic dental protocol for removal, but did say he will use a rubber dam and has high volume suction. I also plan on asking for oxygen during the procedure. I have already purchased a few supplements and have just learned of others. I am unsure of some dosages and wonder if continuing to take my prenatal in conjunction with supplements will end up in me having too much of anything. Here is my plan:

Two weeks prior: Which basically means starting tomorrow

Prenatal as usual (done nursing but have a bottle to finish)

Selenium - 200 mcg 1xday plus 100 mcg in prenatal (Is this too much?)

Vit E - Just learned that this would be good with Selenium. There is 100 IU in my prenatal. Do I need more?

Calcium/Mag - I have been taking 1200/600 per day in two cal/mag supplements plus prenatal--wondering if this is too much mag?

Probiotics - Jarro-Dophilos EPS 1-2 per day

Vitamin C - Will try to get to bowel tolerance and take up to day before procedure and to pick-up again after removal (I have sodium ascorbate and I am wondering if it is necessary to take it with bioflavinoids. In the past I have taken the sodium ascorbate alone. Also, should I stop more than one day before to ensure that novicane-sp? will work?)

Day of removal:

Activated Charcoal - 500 mcg before appointment and after appointment (Do I continue this for a few days after removal?)

Vitamin C Flush - Need to read more on this, but assume it's basically hitting bowel tolerance?

Two weeks following removal:

Prenatal as usual

Selenium - 200 mcg 1xday plus 100 mcg in prenatal (unless someone tells me this is too much)

Vit E - Not sure of correct dosage

Calcium/Mag - 1200/600 per day unless someone tells me this is too much mag

Probiotics - Jarro-Dophilos EPS 1-2 per day

Vitamin C - Bowel tolerance

Other things that may be useful:

Algin or Psyllium husks to help with regularity - Would I start this day of and continue for a couple weeks?

Modifilan - When, how much, how long?

Thanks to anyone who is able to provide me with additional input.

Thanks.

I'd prioritize the Modifilan. It's one of your most powerful items on the list, more powerful than the activated charcoal. At least six capsules a day minimum in the beginning, then back off to three for the long haul.

Thanks Mbravebird. When you say "long haul," how long should I plan to take it? How long do I take 6 per day? And do I take instead of, or in conjunction with activated charcoal? And lastly is this something I would find at my local health food store? Sorry for all the questions.... And thanks again for your input.

You could take it instead of the activated charcoal, as far as I know. I know it's more powerful than the charcoal at sopping up metals. Not sure what else the activated charcoal does, though? Were you thinking using it to sop up bad intestinal bacteria?

You'd take 6 capsules first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with a big glass of water. I forget the timeline for mercury release -- someone on here knows them -- is it three weeks when most of the mercury is circulated and (hopefully) excreted? Whatever that time period is, that would be how long you'd want to do the high levels of modifilan. And I'm not sure how long the long-term release and excretion happens...again, someone on here knows, I remember reading it recently, but I can't remember.

You have to order Modifilan online. People recently ordered a lot, because of the radiation scares (it protects against radiation exposure), and they might be stopping manufacture for a while until they find a new source of seaweed, but last I checked it was still available. It's a distributor thing, so there are a bunch of websites out there.

Thanks Mbravebird. Looks like it is still available. I have PM'd one of the users who knows a lot about this for more info on timeframe. Thanks for your input.
