No periods - not that I want them!

My last period was February 2006, I had my second baby in October 2006 and breastfed him on demand until he weaned when I was 5 months pregnant with my third son, who was born in October 2009.  Clearly I must have ovulated.  Number three is still fed on demand and nurses 2-3 times during the night.  I'm happy with my period break but my family doctor is not and keeps ordering up tests to see if something is wrong.  Has anyone else out there had a similar experience and am I right to happily sail along being thankful that I'm period free.

My last visit from AF was also Feb of 2006. What a funny coincidence. After my first was born, I had a hormonal IUD put in. So I guess that is why my doctor was not concerned. Repression of periods is a known side effect of that BC method. I had the IUD out in November of 09, and never had a period. I was pregnant within a few days. Now I am 10 months post partum and still no flow. No hormones this time either, so the lack of flow is natural. I'm pretty happy about it, so I just don't worry. I figure my body knows that I've got my hands full and am not in a good place to be bringing another one into the world right now. I've got years and years of time to enjoy the monthly visitor. A few years off seems like not too much in the grand scheme of things.
