Looking for a Doula

Hello My husband and I are somewhat new to the area and are expecting our first baby. I am having my baby at Wentworth Douglass and was thinking about having a doula. Any advice about that? Did you have one, was it a good idea or bad, do you wish you had one. Where can I find someone?

Hello-- I had 2 of my 3 children at WD (natural births) and had very good experiences.  I had considered home birth but because of some complications needed to be monitored more closely.  I did not have a doula but know a woman who I have heard is very good.  Feel free to PM me if I can answer more specific questions or pass along her name.  Best wishes to you and your family during this magical time!

Birth Arts International has a find a doula page. You can find one on the site, or you can PM and I pass your name and email along to area doulas.
