This girl has loved to suck since birth (now 11 weeks) and has never lingered on the breast to suck and gets mad when there is milk and she just wants to suck (yet she rarely nurses the breast empty to suck an empty breast), so she got the pacifier. Now, in her sleep, once the pacifier falls out, she is finding her hand and fingers, and her index finger would often be red from her sucking. She puts much of her hand in to get her bent index finger in far enough and sucks it hard. I noticed a few tiny blisters tonight and I don't know what to do about it. It's pretty red too.

Any ideas? I don't mind her sucking a finger over the pacifier, but don't want her opening the blisters and that being painful and disruptive of sleep. I thought of going into check on her and trying to move her fingers and help her get the finger in straight. I think that way, there would be less friction of her tongue against her finger as the finger would move with the tongue more.

Can't see the blisters, here, but it's red and stays bent for a while.
