Funny, because I was assuming eye-la. I have a friend whose daughter is Isla and that's how she pronounces it.

I voted for Isla. It's unique, but not crazy unique and I think it's very pretty and feminine.

i hope this helps as they look pretty neck and neck right now! they're both beautiful names but i also chose isla, based on how it goes with your pronunciation and catherine.

Not sure if you have a final yet, but I was wondering what your other girls names are and how they sound together.  Not that they need to match, just thought it might help.  I completely understand being torn between 2 names that are really great, but wanting it to BE her name, not just something we think is okay.  Eye-la May-ah (is that correct) has just a bit of a tongue tie for me, however we also have a couple in ours like that and it is just right, so if she is an Eye-la go with it.   She will fill it out as time goes on.  (FWIW, I am not a huge fan of Violet, but think it has an easier sound for others to say-even though that shouldn't be a factor).
