Could I have made kefir by mistake?

I've had a quart jar of raw goat's milk sitting in the fridge for just over a week, and it's turned fizzy and yeasty smelling. Could I have made kefir by mistake? Or can you only do this with a culture? (btw, how the heck do you pronounce "kefir"?)

Key fur is only made with the grains that are used to culture the milk.

Pretty sure you just have the beginnings of clabbered milk.

That is normally made on the counter and its allowed to actually mold.

Now, you say that milk is only a week old?

Might want to check the temp of your fridge.
If it is covered and kept cold, it should not have turned like that.

Thanks for the info!

It's possible it may have been in the fridge of the person who gave it to me for a longer period of time... ;)
