Sleepwalking and night terrors

I have a 5 1/2 year old dd who has started sleepwalking every night (sometimes multiple times a night). I think they are a combination of sleepwalking and night terrors b/c her sleepwalking is also precipitated with her crying and terrified. I've tried earlier bedtimes, waking her before the known sleepwalking period, and eliminating sweets before bed.

Does anybody else have a child that sleepwalks this much?

me. i did that till i was in my early teens. but i did not have night terrors. just walking. if i remember my mom tried everything but nothing really stopped it.

if i remember what moms wrote here were food sensitivity. red dye 5.

also stress.

now does she wake up and remember the terrors? its only while she is sleeping/sleep walking isnt it?

she doesn't remember any of it and the crying/terrors only happen when she's walking. that's how i know she's sleepwalking or rather going to sleepwalk. i hear her crying first then she starts sleepwalking and crying.

how do i find out what foods have red dye 5?

I had night terrors until my late twenties and sleep-walked into my thirties. For me, stress was a big trigger.

Anyway, to find out what foods have Red Dye #5, look at the labels. Here's an article that might help: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eatingwell/avoiding-food-dyes-tips_b_843680.html
