I need help with a girls name

The middle name will likely be Jane to honor my mom and MIL.  I put my kids' names through nymbler.com and these a few names it came up with that sparked my interest.  Our last name sounds similar to "carrots." 

We always have a really hard time with girls names.  I'm pretty finicky about them.  These names are probably the most "out there" of all the girls names I've ever liked.  My problems with them:

Jillian Jane is an alliteration.  May have to find a different middle name to use it.

Aubrey is getting kind of popular.  It's also the name of two of the babies on 16 & Pregnant, which makes me cringe a little.  I'm really drawn to A names though.

Violet sounds like "violent" to me sometimes.

Lucy I wonder people will be all "I Love Lucy" or asking me about Peanuts cartoons.  Not like either of those are really popular anymore though.  This is probably my favorite name of them all because I like the way Lucy Jane sounds.

Any thoughts?  Please tell me if you hate them and feel free to pick them apart like I did above.  I need to hear it all now rather than later!  This could all be pointless however because the baby could be a boy in which his name will be Owen.

We too don't really have a girl name even though we could be having a girl. I personally don't think it's a girl but I have no actual proof :) Our girl name is Cleo with my mama's name as a middle name, Maureen. But I've never felt like we are actually gonna use it :)

i honestly don't love any of your choices with the middle name jane, but you should definitely stick with jane.  it's beautiful (and just so happens to be my middle name).

you say you're drawn to "A" names...what about amelia or aurora.  they both sound nice with jane.  our dd's middle name is amelia and i kind of wish we'd saved it to possibly use as first name one day.  i just love it.

of your four choices, lucy is my fave by far.

I do like Amelia too.  I almost included it, but I didn't want to have too many choices.  LOL.  I can't use Aurora though because it is the name of a town close by.

I love Lucy Jane.

Jane is our fave for a middle name too.

We are going to go with Calliope Jane, but our previous first names to go with Jane were:

Eliza Jane
Alice Jane
Audrey Jane


With my last one we named her middle name after my grandmother, but after a lot of thinking, I had decided against Adaline Jane because I really dont like the nickname AJ, which I thought would be a possiblity since MIL loves that kind of stuff.

Any name can be Picked apart. You'll find people who hate them for one reason or another or prefer them for one reason or another...You can't please everyone. And you can't worry about what everyone will think. Even if it's a 'popular' name she will be your very own and it will become unique to her and in your eyes/ears. Pick what YOU like.

I voted for Lucy Jane. Who Cares if people think it's from Peanuts or Or I love Lucy, or 7th Heaven or what ever!!! We have a Lorelei and constantly hear, "Oh, Like from Gilmore Girls???" When We actually got it from the Styx song. It doesn't matter as long as they know her name.

My name is Samantha so I know how annoying it is to hear "Oh, your mom must have loved Bewitched!"  That's why I mentioned that about the name Lucy.  I forgot about 7th Heaven too.  LOL.  Good ol' Lucy Camden.

I really like Violet and I asked my whole American family and no one thought it sounded like "violent" - here in Austria we pronounce it Veeolett. 

How about Viola or Violetta. 

I am not for Lucy as it always seems like only a part of a name and I can not imagine a successful business woman or lawyer called Lucy (but please don't forget I am not a native speaker! And I do not want to upset anybody with that name). 

And yes to PP Aubrey Jane seems like a more complete name!

Too funny! This baby will be Frances Viola (Viola is my granny's middle name) and my SIL named Lucinda (but called Lucy) swears she will call her "Ebola"  We plan on training the kids to start referring to her as "crazy aunt Lucy" if she really does it.

 my name is samantha too and while no one ever said this to me, when i was born (1972) and my mother said what my name would be, one of the nurses said to her, "aren't you afraid she's gonna be a witch?"
