Anyone here expecting #4 or more? - Page 2

This is baby number 6 for me.  I am thrilled!  There is no greater blessing on Earth.  I know my closest friends who are part of our tight homeschooling network understand my ideals and reasons.  6 isn't even very big in our group.  But I do have reservations for telling some family members who place a higher value on fashion, fancy vacations and other things that money will buy.  I have been asked so many times if we did it on purpose.  I have even been outright told that I have too many kids by some family.

Congratulations!!  I'm so sorry that you have had such rude responses.

My sisters and my children have been very excited for us.  We told my in-laws yesterday and they were not quite supportive.  My FIL said, "that's great...I think.  Expensive, though."  Hubby said, "Babies are not expensive; lifestyles are."  joy.gif

I'm not terribly excited about telling my parents.  They have a lot of stress in their lives right now and I know they'll be negative - but, I agree with you - NO greater blessing on Earth!

We are expecting baby #7. Haven't told anybody yet, probably won't for a while. :)

We have 3 bio-kids, we were just blessed with a 2 year old daughter that we are adopting, and I am now pregnant... If this baby makes it (I've lost 2 in the last year) we will have 5. :)

Congratulations Happyblessedmama and Sagewinna!

#5 if this baby is sticky.

This is our rainbow baby and I am over the moon excited. I dread telling people because of the comments people will make. We plan on waiting to tell until we can not deny it anymore. It's kind of fun having such a huge secret.

Congrats to all the large family mamas. May we all have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

#4 here!! Haven't told anyone besides DH yet, but we are excited!!

Wow, I can't believe how many people are against large families! I'm the oldest of five sisters (one stillborn) and people were constantly asking my dad if he was trying for a boy, like that was the only reason they'd keep having kids!

We're expecting #3. We'd planned to stop at 2, but I always wanted 4, so I was thrilled that we are having this one . . . now I have an excuse to have my fourth, lol. I wrote my parents to tell them and knew that they might not be pleased with another grandchild being born so far away from them, so I put "Good news!" in the subject line and they both wrote back how happy they were for us. :)  On the other hand, my husband told his mom a bit sheepishly, "uh, well, it looks like we should have been more careful . . . " and she is all over us about how bad an idea it is to have another (she was against us having #2 but she has 7 kids). It definitely helps to put a positive spin on things.

As for the congrats, I always tell everyone congratulations when they say they're expecting, even if they seem to be a bit unhappy about it, because A) a baby is an awesome thing and B) even if they are feeling wishy washy about it in the beginning, I think most parents are head over heels when their little one arrives and then they'll remember who said "Oh no!" and who said, "That's great!"

So cool to see I am not the only one expecting #7. Like some of you I feel like keeping it to myself & DH right now (and all of you lol) because I really don't want to see/hear any negativity about it.

Unexpected but I really am excited. Honestly thought I was extra careful this month because last cycle I was worried I cut it a little too close to O so I was paying attention and protected even earlier in cycle than normal.

Still super surprised about seeing those lines but happy & excited but also taking one day at a time because I have mc'd before and am older now!

So nice to see you all here!

Oh, and we will be saving up or another vehicle. Our Suburban which we just got this year, (used) only has 8 seats!

I'm expecting my 6th (or 7th, too- I have a major twin hunch) after 3 m/cs.  I'll be 44!  I love my big family.  (still nursing my 3 year old)

I am also still nursing (new experience for me - nursing while pg).

DH made a comment about twins since I'm going to be 35 this year.  That would be the only thing that could shock me more than the positive pg test itself.  I've always figured it wouldn't happen because I really don't see how my body could handle two babies and once.  I concluded that nature wouldn't allow it because of that.  Sounds good to me anyway.

Thank you so much for this thread.  I just found out tonight that I am pregnant with our 6th(worried about twins) and am very nervous about telling everyone that we are expecting.  This made me feel so much better.  I am thrilled beyond beleaf but others can say things that are hateful.  Anyway, I am excited to have a new little one on the way and thanks for your words!

We are in the same situation. Love my suburban. We aren't going to get a new one...  I think we're going with one of these folding seats. Where I live I kinda need the 4wd for winter driving and that makes a 12 psgr van that much more unappealing!

A week or so before my + pregnancy test I scored a triple stroller on craigslist, though... I thought I'd be using it with my younger 3. Guess I will be but haven't met one of those 3 yet!

We're going to need a new car too.  We have a minivan now and will need an 8+ passenger.  We could use 4wd sometimes, but I think we'd do okay with a big van.  Selling and buying cars is one thing that I really dislike.  It just stresses me out.  I definitely don't want to wait til the last minute.

Congratulations to all of the latest Big Family Mamas!

We have a 8 passenger mini-van which, in theory, is sufficient as we only have the 4 (5 in March) at home.  However, with only one of them out of a booster/carseat, that will leave 3 in carseats and one in a booster come March and that does get tight.  I'd love a larger van but we'll just have to see what God has in store.

LOL on the twin hunches - I told DH I think we're having twin boys...which would be hysterical because there are NO twins in my family.  (DH's great grandmother was one of a set of triplets - which was amazing during that time (120 years ago or so) and they all lived to be a ripe old age - even more amazing) but nada on my side.  And, while we would be thrilled with twins, I'm already having a hard time keeping up with my 3 under 5 - this was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much easier in my 20s than it is in my 40s!

Motherto4 - I love your children's names!

MrsSurplus- thank you!  I just updated it cause I haven't really been on here sense my baby was born.  They are boy, girl, boy, girl, girl!

OMG!  Thank you soooooo much for posting this!  This would totally work much better.  We have a 1999, so ours would be rear facing which would still leave lots of space for cargo if the seat is not being used.  The one concern I do have about that is, in an accident any cargo in the back could be very dangerous to that person.

I'll definitely have to look into it more because being able to go that route will keep us on track for some of our financial goals vs having to save up for another vehicle.  Plus we'd have to buy used anyway and at least we already know this one works well.  Another could also bring repair cost along with it.

We do have 4x4 but it's not a necessity here.  I can see how that would make a 12 passenger less appealing.  I just saw a very cool 15 passenger Express on craiglist yesterday but don't have $22k lol

I just emailed that link to DH so he can look it over too.
