What do you make of these OPKs?

What do you  make of these?  I only have minimal experience with OPK's (a few cycles) spread out over the last several years).  Just curious since this is sort of early for me to ovulate (I'm on CD14 and usually ovulate a few days later), but I'm getting ovulation "twinges" (I alternate between those and actual pains) this afternoon too.

The first test is CD10, then CD11, then CD12, then CD13, then CD14 morning and afternoon (taken about 15 minutes ago).  This mornings seemed positive to me, but it's already lightened a bit by this afternoon (despite having very concentrated urine).

I'll be watching for a temp rise too, but it's really REALLY important that I catch my O accurately because I have to start some new supplements ASAP afterwards.

Thanks for any input!!

Looks to me like you have your positive with the last two. So u should ovulate within the next 24 to 36 hours so get to bding and start ur supplements after watching your shift if they are supposed to be taken after u ovulate. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies!  This mornings was definitely obvious!  How long is it normal to get positives for?  And why do so many places recommend afternoon urine for OPK's?  I get FMU for HPTs (even though I get better results on THOSE with HPT's), but seems like AU is recommended a lot for ovulation tests...obviously it doesn't work better for me.

Here's todays test added in-

Afternoon urine is usually recommended because your surge "usually" builds up during the day. I test in the AM and in the afternoon when i'm testing because it's possible for some to miss their surges.  That last one is BLAIRING!!!  That is awesome!  I hope you're able to get plenty of BDing in!!!!  What kind of strips do you use?

Just throwing out there a reminder that OPK's do not guarantee ovulation.  They just tell you when your LH surge is building, but your body can gear up to O and not succeed, trying again in a few days or even weeks.  Many things can delay O.  Also, OPK's can turn positive for other reasons and sometimes they simply don't work very well- turning up positive for days on end or through O and after O.  Only temping will show you if and when you're ovulating.  Have you thought about adding temping to your routine?   Come to think of it, your screen name looks familiar... I may have posted this info to you before... if so I apologize!  orngbiggrin.gif

They are the Answer strips.  Answer never fails me. LOL

I am temping. :)  In my OP I mentioned I was waiting to see a temp rise. :)  Yeah one of the few other times I used OPK's I had a "fluke" ovulation (everything but the temp shift) and then the real thing about a week later.  Frustrating to say the least!  If my temp doesn't rise tomorrow or the next I'm going to stay on the lookout.

Thanks everybody!

Ah yes, I missed that sentence when I read it.  Sorry!  So you'll know when it happens... how's your CF- creamy or eggwhite?

Just kinda watery. It's as good as things get for me in that dept.!  I've only had "true" EWCM" once in the last 8 years of tracking my cycle!  I was so excited to see it that one time though!! LOL

Okay sorry to keep bugging you guys but I have another question!  How long do you keep getting positives for?  I took another last night (out of curiosity) and then again this morning and it's still BLARINGLY positive.  My temp did shoot up .5 degrees (I generally take a day or two to reach my highest), but I'm not going to consider it "done" for another day or two.  Just curious about the positive OPK's though.

Here is the pic (it's even darker than both of yesterdays)

Something interesting...another one of the few cycles I used OPKs on, AFTER I ovulated (like 2-3 DPO, confirmed) I was still getting EXTREMELY dark positives, darker than my "real" positives.  Any idea why my body would do that?  I'm wondering if this is just proving to be a similar situation.
