Low Income Housing (St. Louis County Area)

Does anyone know where I can look for low income houseing? Where we wanted to go, just won't work out. Has to be 3 bedrooms since we are a family of 5.

We need a good school district. Need washer and dryer in the unit. Any suggestions?

Try Maplewood.

If you can come over to the Illinois side, try Belleville (excellent school district) or Collinsville (good school district.)

I will!

I was thinking yesterday, it would be great to get a job near the metrolink.  Then I could take the train to work (I am looking for work right now).  Same for my husband and he is going to school at Forest Park CC.  So we will add metro east in the mix.

My husband left a message for Apartment Search (They are in Crestwood).  They supposedly help people like us find something.  I believe with them they do your approval paperwork.  Rather than paying all these application fees to then be denied.

There is another place I heard of.  Beyond Housing.

We live between Kingshighway and Hampton between 44 and Chippawa (The Hill) and there are TONS of places for rent. I really like the neighborhood too. I feel very safe. I would recommend just driving around the area and getting phone numbers. Seriously, I pass DOZENS.

BUT, my kid is in a private school, so I don't know about the district.

St. Louis City Schools get an awful sad rating from Great Schools.  I even called and talked with United Way.  The lady I spoke with said, um I wouldn't recommend City Schools with your child having special needs.

We had to resign our lease.  :(  I don't have a job yet and my husband doesn't have a new job.  We don't have the income to qualify for much right now.

Actually, if your child has special needs, you can qualify for special school district, and I hear they are actually great!
