I finally had my baby! He was born in the hospital on June 24th at 4:30 in the morning.
It was a long, labor, he gave us a scare a couple of times. The brief story being, my water broke at 3:30am on June 23rd, I labored at home for 8 hours until we had a good pattern coming, my labor stalled out in the car but we got back going after a while. At 10pm that evening (yes PM... ) I was still only at 4 cm, so we called for an epidural hoping that I'd be able to get a little rest. By 1am baby's heart was decelerating to the point that my calm and collected midwife was talking about an emergency C-section. They checked me again, I had progressed 1 cm and there was another bulging bag of water, after she broke that I progressed to a 9 in about an hour and baby was doing better. It took about 1.5 hours to push him out and another 1.5 hours to be sewn back up. I started tearing before he was crowning and lost over 1200 cc's of blood.
While it wasn't anywhere near the birth I had hoped for and imagined, we are both glad that baby and I are doing well and recovering quickly. For everything that we went through I feel great and he is a fabulous nurser.
My midwife told us that if we had been at home we would have had an emergency transfer and would have been close to bleeding out.
He was 6lbs 9oz, 20.5 inches long, sweet and cuddly. His big sister is in awe of him.
Pics will come later.

healing vibes to you, mama!
