So, July has suddenly snuck on me and I realized when I was getting ready for my prenatal appt. today that DH and I hadn't signed up yet for the Childbirth Refresher class (1 evening for 2 hours) at our birth center. They are offereing one class in July, one in August, nothing in September, and one in October that is way too close to our due date. DH will be away during the August class, so that left the July class. But...oops! It's already full and they can't squeeze anyone else into it. They asked me if I could come in August without DH and just kinda "fill him in." I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. Our last childbirth classes were 3 years ago and I still have all the handouts from that class. I kinda feel like, in some ways, the class is more for him than for me cuz I'll be "in the zone" and he'll be the one who will need to figure out how to help/what I need. I had been thinking about buying The Birth Partner (Penny Simpkins) because I don't really have any childbirth books except a borrowed copy of Spiritual Midwifery. And that could be a good book for DH to read parts of, I imagine. But maybe it would be helpful for me to spend 2 hours with a childbirth educator reviewing things.
