My girls both have August birthdays the same week. DD1 is turning 5 and DD2 is turning 2. In addition to new figures for their birthday ring, I'm thinking about using the rhyme we did at Christmas "something to read, something to wear, something to play with, something to share" for gifts. I want a play with idea for DD2 that's not too expensive, but feels sort of big.
Â
For DD2 we're doing:
read - Duck and Goose board book (she has them memorized, but we don't own any)
wear - ballet shoes, tights, and leotard for a dance class she's starting the week of her birthday
play with - ???Â
share - a quilt for her bed in the new bunk beds the girls will share (bottom bunk is on the floor)
Â
For DD1 we're doing:
read - a Jane Raye book, Ladybug Girl book, or a Jan Ormerod book
wear - undecided (felt crown, hair barrettes, or perhaps dance wear too)
play with - a "big girl pedal bike"
share - a canopy silk for the bunk beds (to make a sort of cubby out of the bottom bunk, which I think they will both LOVE)
Â
Any suggestions? We have a play kitchen (with lots of stuff). She has a little 4 wheeled scooter bike (and can graduate to DD1's balance bike when she's tall enough). We have plenty of blocks (which she loves), silks, dolls and stuffed animals, a doll house and a barn, kid tables/chairs, a sandbox and swing set, etc. I'm trying to minimize clutter.
