In the last few days my DD has been peeing really frequently - sometimes several times an hour. She's also become obsessed with "peeing in the woods" and is thrilled that she has finally "learned" this skill. But she pees all the time in the toilet too - she just says she feels like she has to go, she's just happy now she doesn't have to come inside if she's out playing.
When she first started seeming to need to pee all the time I figured she had a UTI starting up so I made her drink loads so she'd have lots to pee when she needed to. But she says it doesn't hurt at all to pee and if we're somewhere that she just can't go (like driving with nowhere to stop) she holds it without complaint and is fine, and sometimes even forgets that she "needs" to go for a while. If she gets really absorbed in something, she can go for hours without peeing - yesterday she was playing with a friend and peed maybe twice all afternoon.
DH and I suspect that she's just going through a phase of being obsessed with peeing and has discovered that if she gets up frequently after going to bed, it lets her stay up later and pop into my sewing room to see what I'm doing. However, I'm taking her to the doctor tomorrow anyway to get her checked out.
Has anyone else had this - frequent urination with NO other UTI symptoms, no hint of a fever, fully cheerful and full of beans, just wants to pee all the time?
