So - WICK and non vaxers

We qualify for WICK BUT we have to have a note saying we don't vax on religious grounds to get it. (so I was told...correct me if I was wrongly informed)

- I am uncomfortable with having our name on a database that says we do not vaccinate.

- I know that you have to when you go to school but I'm planning to homeschool - I wouldn't have to answer to anyone.

Any thoughts on this one? Is WICK really worth the effort. Or is it better to just have the "clean records" and forget about the WICK

The only thing they can do is ask for shot records, which, actually, are proof of ID for the child. If your children are not up to date, they are just supposed to ask if you would like to get them caught up, and you just say no thank you. ;)

well the lady told me if I don't vax, thats fine but need a dr. note or waiver that I don't vax on religious grounds....

Print out that link I provided, with the quoted text highlighted. If they follow federal law, they shouldn't require any note at all. Why would your decision need to be based on religious grounds? Why do they need a waiver? A waiver implies that something is required. Immunizations are NOT required for WIC. The federal government website I linked to makes that very clear.

I'm unclear, so can they or can they not ask for a note/waiver saying that I don't vaccinate. 

FYI - religious reasons - bc the state that I live in only accepts religious waivers for vaccines.

My thoughts - my decision to vaccinate or not is a personal one, its my personal records I choose not to disclose - Can I choose not to disclose them to WICK?

You could put it back on her, ask to see IN WRITING where it says a note or waiver is required.  It's not.  It's a federal program, doesn't matter what your state exemptions are.

That is to get into school, not to qualify for WIC.

WOW you guys had it easy our WIC office was harassing the crap out of us for not vaxing so much so I forfeited our benefits b/c I couldn't deal anymore...
