Road trip from Houston to Louisana- Where to go?

Our family is taking a road trip to Louisiana.  We are most likely taking I-10 east.  We are thinking of doing a swamp tour- any suggestions?  We won't be going as far in as New Orleans, probably just as far a Lafayette.

I want to be sure my kids have fun- two boys, 7 and 5 yrs. old.  Are there any waterparks/theme parks around that area?  How about zoos or botanical gardens?  Or anything else interesting?

There are a lot of things available around Lafayette--there's even a small zoo off I-10 on I-49 south toward New Iberia.  Once you get off the interstate, you can take the swamp tours in Henderson.  Be aware that it's going to be hot on the boat, so you might want to make sure that you have some water with you.
