Friend needs help in Central IN

Thread Starter

A friend told me today that their school is threatening not to allow their son to start high school in the fall unless he's updated on vaccinations.

Can someone please help me help her?

Where to start?

What to say to the school?

How to not be intimidated?

What to put on the forms?

Where can she print the law to take with her?

Anything you think might be relevant?

TIA

Cate

Where is your friend?  The rules are different in different states and different countries.

http://vaclib.org/exemption.htm

This page has exemption info on many different areas.

If you give us a general location we might be able to be more helpful.

"15. What must a religious objection contain?

A religious objection must state that the objection to immunization is based on religious grounds.  Each objected immunization must be specified.  The objection must be in writing, signed by the child’s parent, and delivered to the school. There is no requirement of proof. The written religious objection must be resubmitted to the school each year.

16. Is there a philosophical objection allowed in Indiana?

No.  Indiana law only allows religious and medical exemptions."
