I'm not stalking you, I promise!  But with #1 we did try for a girl... at first.  I had charted for about 4 months prior to really TTC so I had a decent idea what was happening in my cycle.  Then we attempted to time DTD no less than 3 days before my expected O.  We did that for maybe 3 cycles and gave up b/c we wanted to be pg already!  Then we switched over to many days before all the way through O and beyond.  It was a bit exhausting.  The cycle prior to conceiving dd I m/c very early and after that we were on a rampage.  I think we DTD every day for 2 weeks straight.  That was a lot for us when we normally would DTD more like 2-4 times a month.  It worked and we had a girl anyway!  Maybe dh's sperm were tired by then and only those female endurance swimmers survived!   makebabe.gif

HAHA! I <3 you! You really just made me LOL. And I needed that.im havin a Bad morning. I know certain foods are supposed to help too. High acidic things help kill off the male sperm. I'm just not sure if it actually works or if we should just TTC and HOPE it's a girl lol

My mom had 4 girls and then 3 boys.  She says my dad was an early and often kind of man, an ever ready daddy - female sperm live longer than male sperm, but male sperm are faster.  With my first brother, my dad was gone on a 2 week work assignment, came back and 9 months later my brother was born.  She said to get a boy, don't have sex for 2 weeks, then DTD "when you are slippery" (that is how she got 2 more boys after her first 4 girls).  If I want a girl, DTD early and often so the female sperm have "front loaded" the reproductive track and are there waiting for an egg to be released.  I am currently TTC.  I want a girl first so I am all into the early and often (but not tiring myself and my DH out).

lilac- actualy that is not true anymore. it is misinformation that is rampant on online forums. go to in-gender.com to find more info.

I just browsed in-gender.com and saw that the typical method of DTD a few days out from O has a fairly poor scorecard for girls.   The 0+12 method mentioned there seems more promising, but you could spend a lot of cycles trying to make it work to even achieve pregnancy since you have to get your dh to not ejaculate for a week or more and then DTD once AFTER ovulation.   There is some evidence that "old" sperm that has not been ejaculated in a while has 2% more female sperm, but it didn't appear that this was clinically proven by any controlled studies.
