Dilated Pelvis (Opening to the kidney)

I found out today that I'm having a BOY. Yayyy!

Everything in the ultrasound was within normal limits, except for the right kidney. The pelvis was dilated. He explained the pelvis as the opening that eventually connects to the urethra.

He said, in adults, when we have a dilated pelvis, it normally means a kidney stone, causing urine back-up, causing the dilation.

However, he said the amniotic fluid was totally normal, so the kidneys are functioning as they should.

I have to go in for another ultrasound with a high risk doctor.

Should I be worried? My doctor said this is common and normally corrects itself, but that doesn't help, obviously.

Anyone experience something similar?

I had the same thing yesterday. My CNM says that since my amniotic fluid levels are fine, the dilation just means the baby hadn't peed yet right then. But obviously he's peeing just fine b/c if he weren't the amniotic fluid wouldn't be normal, since I guess it's got a lot of pee in it... yum. Also this dilation is normal for boys, is what they say. but the u/s folks told me to come in again in six weeks. I am on the fence about doing this. I hate going for u/s but it might be better to be on the safe side.
