Cannot pm

Hello.  I am new to MDC.  Lately when I have tried to send a PM to another member and hit submit I get an error message stating I have fulfilled my daily allotment of 2 messages per day, however I have not sent one message yet!  Do I need to activate something or accrue more time as a member before I can send messages?  Help!  

I am using a MacBook Pro and Safari web browser.

Hi TwinMum3 and welcome to Mothering. 

I think some settings changed recently that should now be back to normal. Please try to PM again and let me know if the problem persists.

HI!

I am having the same issue. I am on Firefox on a Mac. I sent one PM, tried to PM someone else and was told I had used up my daily allotment of 2 PMs! This happened today.

Just letting you know.

Guess I will wait until tomorrow to send my other PM or will try again later!

You shouldn't have the same issue. Your group settings allow you a pretty large number of PMs per day. I'll check into it...

Sounds like the same thing that's happening to me.  I joined a couple days ago and have been trying to respond to some forum posts.  I have gotten that "2 posts" allowed message and it appears that the last PM I tried to send didn't go through.

Do I need to change some of my settings?

You should be able to send 5 PMs a day as a new member. We don't want to increase that so that spammers do not abuse the privilege.

I tried my first PM and it said I didn't have permission.  But I can't figure out how I get permission???

We have changed the privileges due to spammers abusing the PM system. You now must be registered 14 days and have at least 10 posts to be able to send a PM.
