Hello! I'm 9 weeks and having serious break out issues. Does anyone have a good suggestion for a facial cleanser? I've tried honey, and plain soap. Looking for something natural/organic- could be a "home made" solution or store-bought.

I've had acne forever so I have researched this issue EXTENSIVELY. From my understanding, it is ok to use a face wash that has salicylic acid in it, but your face cream should not contain it. There are many organic brands that you can pick up at Whole Foods or Target, like Burt's Bees or Alba Botanical that have salicylic acid. Just be sure that the cream that you use does not contain retinoids, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide etc. For me, I am using Boscia Clear Complexion face wash and lotion from Sephora or Ulta. The anti-acne ingredient in both is willow bark, which is actually what salicylic acid is derived from, and EWG ranks as no risk. This line is a little pricey and doesn't work miracles in the acne department, but is very natural. Another super natural line is Derma E Very Clear which uses willow bark and tea tree oil. I've used it and did like it as well. This is not super pricey but not super cheap either. Using a wash cloth to gently scrub at night seems to help some as well.
Not a solution for the daily cleanser but, I apply diluted tea tree oil directly to the pimples to dry them out. I have very sensitive skin so I have to dilute it to about 1/10 full strength. I've also bought blemish sticks at natural grocery stores that contain tea tree and some other oils to apply to blemishes. It works great.Â
If your skin is really oily I would try just plain egg yolks. Separate the yolks from the whites and smear the yolks on your face, leave it until it dries. Then wash them off. It'll really take the oil off. I wouldn't do it more than 2-3 times a week, you don't wanna dry out too much. But when I did it would make my face so soft and fresh feeling.
