Intact son and surgery looming ahead

Thread Starter

My 1 year old son is going in for open heart surgery in a few weeks, and I am really worried about about the urinary catheterization process (among other things) I really wish this was a non-issue but I am afraid that they are going to forcefully retract my son and cause damage. I am looking for advice for other parents that have been in the same boat, or any other advice. What should/can I do?

Thanks!

I would call Marilyn Milos of NoCirc:  415-488-9883.  (She is in California.)

She is a nurse and very helpful .  She also answers her phone readily.

Best of luck with the surgery!

When you have the surgery consult you should bring up your concerns with the Dr. then again when you talk to the anestheiologist bring it up with him/her.

I agree with A&A call Marilyn and get her opinions as well.
