Frozen, thawed, and re-frozen breastmilk- okay?

I pumped and froze about 11 ounces of BM about 2 weeks ago when dh and I had to go out one night (the first time we were away from DS3). My mom watched the kids. We were gone about 8 hours and DS3 refused to take a bottle, although my mom finally got him to take an ounce. Before my mom came over I took all the frozen BM out from the freezer and put it in the fridge to thaw. After we got home and my mom left I noticed she put all the BM back in the freezer... is it okay to keep or should I throw it out?

if it wasn't used at all, I'd keep it but mark it to use next, plus I'd taste it before using. If it tastes ok to me then I use it.

According to kellymom.com (here) you should never refreeze breastmilk. We've always thrown out anything that was thawed and not used within 24 hours.

There is a thread here somewhere that gives resources that contradict the kellymom page (they show that breastmilk is more robust than previously thought). I'll try to find it and link it. Don't throw it out yet!

LLL says it's ok to re-freeze.  Womanly Art of Breastfeeding  "Storing Thawed Milk"  Previously frozen milk that has been thawed can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hrs.  If it hasn't been used by that time, it should be discarded or refrozen.
