Who have you told? - Page 3

I'm about 6.5 weeks and DH knows, my midwife knows, and MDC knows. I have a feeling that my mom and sister might have suspected it though because I've been kinda moody for no reason around my mom and I keep asking my sister questions. (She is pg with her 4th and due in Sept)

So, we have a family reunion next month and everyone wants to go hiking and all over the place. I'm hoping I can last through it all without having to give it up and blame it on being pg. So I'm keeping up a normal exercise routine (which I had been doing for some time) and hoping that continues to help me feel enough energy so I don't look like wimp to them when we hike up those big Colorado mountains. DH and I are debating on whether to tell them next month or wait...we hardly ever seem 'em- we all live in different states. If we told them in person then we might think of something more fun than just shouting out the news. Idk, what would ya'll do in my position?

(background: its our 2nd child and I suspect the other SiLs have been trying and might be pg too...who knows!?)

I'm having the same issue!!! I've already spilled the beans to one of my brothers and my sister who is also pregnant right now. I told my sister the day after our BFP and I told my brother 2 days ago. I have this app on my iPhone that I can talk to my family for free now {I've been in Australia for 4 years and only communicated via FB before now} and I find it a SUPER struggle to not tell. So I did lol. DH has told his best friend who he also works with, as he needed him to cover his shift next week when we have the ultrasound.

I'm in the same boat as you Rosie - my mom can absolutely not keep a secret and will tell everyone as soon as she knows so I'll have to break the news to her and the rest of my siblings simultaneously haha. DH's family are finding out the day after the ultrasound. We have to go down for FIL's bday and they know about our TTC efforts so we want to tell them in a cute way before they figure it out on their own. This is their first grandbaby / niece/nephew :).

Tricia - where in Colorado do you love? I am here too....

I told my mom and hubby the day I tested (14 dpo) and just tonight we told our kids because it's just to hard to go on my boards, talk to others helping me and not have them know. But it is hard if it doesn't stick. Ohhhh I asked Jamie (the intuitive) and she said it will work. Wow she is amazing! I wish I knew how she can do that.....

I'm kind of debating when I should let the extended family/friends on facebook know. I really want to post something, but then again, it is a little fun to keep it secret. Not that it really IS secret - DD blabbed to my aunts and grandma, and the neighbors, and my husband's parents, etc. smile.gif

Oh my Molls... I landed in Longmont when I first moved here in May of last yr now up in Loveland hoping to go back down in the fall. ;0) How long ago did you move to Seattle? My mom lives in Portland, Or. We sure have thought of moving to the southern part of Oregon.

I'm DYING to post our announcement on Facebook, but I'm only 6w2d so it feels a little like tempting fate. We've already told all our immediate family and close friends. I've already made the video for our FB announcement, too, I just have to sit on it for another week or two :( But I can share it with you guys! When the time is right, I'm just going to post it with no fanfare and see how many people watch it ;) Here it is:

I was thinking I'd take a pic of my little dude wearing a "Big Brother" t-shirt and put it as his profile pic (yes, my child has a Facebook profile, but it's MINE till he turns 13 for me to post his milestones and such on...and he's got about 50 "friends" who are mostly family and a few of his mom and dad's friends really). That will be VERY subtle, since I've got his profile set at the highest settings possible...so only a select few people will see and "get" that.

Then for my Facebook I thought I'd either post this pic on my wall and say something like "I love spaghetti" and see how long it takes for people to "get" it!!

OR, I'll get my neighbor who is an amateur photographer to take a family photo of us where the little dude is wearing his "Big Brother" shirt and post that as my profile pic and see if people "get" it.

But since I'm only 7w3d, I want to wait at least till eight weeks to spill to friends on my one other forum I frequent...and till after my sono and I hear the heartbeat at least till I spill on Facebook, etc. But, it is SOOOO hard to keep mum!!

I posted a picture of a cinnamon bun in an oven on facebook...and I don't think anyone gets it. I think they're thinking I cooked it...darn me for posting pictures of what I bake. redface.gif

I want to tell people (at least the ones I know who will care), but I want to get a little further along, I'll be 6w on sunday.  I'm hoping I can hide it till 8w, but my jeans are already getting tight.  I've only told 3 people (none of them family), they are the only ones I can trust to not pass the info on to anyone else.  I just had to tell someone.

It took me liking the "I'm pregnant" page on Facebook for someone to figure it out. smile.gif

I just got an email from my mom (who doesn't yet know because she's on vacation with extended family). It said "Louise spilled the beans about Stacy, they're pregnant! But it's a secret."

LOL, now I'm sure of my decision to wait to tell her...if I do EVERYONE will know.

I ordered a t-shirt from etsy that says "This little all-star is going to be a big brother." I was going to wait until after my first appointment to even order it as we are not telling family until after we know viability. I decided to order it today just so I would have it when the time came. I am still nervous about jinxing myself, but deep down, DS will be a big brother at some point in his life. So I bit the bulllet.

I told my best friend.

My fear about telling family early is if there was a problem or miscarriage, then I feel like I'd be pitied. Or if way after that, anytime I felt sick or didn't look like myself, they'd assume I was pregnant. I'd love to tell my parents, but I can't tell them without telling the inlaws and by extension, their close extended family. So, we must wait. Only a few more weeks hopefully.

so the other day I was at a friend's house for a playdate and she just came out and asked me if I'm pregnant yikes.gif I was pretty surprised, she's just really intuitive and she claims is had nothing to do with my *ahem* belly.  So I am 9ish weeks and 2 people know so far.

Madeit, Fun! My family now lives in Johnstown, so when we come home we are always in Loveland. :)

I've been in Seattle off and on (a few years in other countries) for about 10 years now. Moved here just after 9/11, when they were first letting planes fly again. How quickly time goes. After 10 years I am still head-over-heels in love with this place. So green and lush, with islands everywhere, and friendly open-minded people. Plus I met my hubby here, I'm a little biased. And Oregon is fantastic too! We love Portland.

Ohhhhh goodness...I'm just coming up on 9 weeks and I think keeping it a secret is no longer an option. Went to a party last night and not a single girlfriend offered me an alcoholic beverige or tried to coerce me into the hot tub, plus I got lots of double-takes at my belly. :-P In the morning it is pretty flat but by afternoon/evening I swear I look 5 moths pregnant. Yikes.

One of my closest friends said the second we left she got a barrage of questions from the women that she had trouble fending off (the men of course were blissfully unaware). ;) So I guess we'll be 'coming out' sooner than expected!

Since out last 2 were missed miscarriages, we are waiting to tell most people until after my 8 week ultrasound on Friday. If the baby is ok we'll spill it. :)

We went ahead and told everyone already except DH's family, they live out of town so its not too hard to keep a secret.  They get mad when they find out we are expecting AGAIN so we wait till as long as possible to tell them.  Last time we waited to tell others till I was 12 weeks but this time its my fifth and I got very bloated right away look like I am months pregnant already. LOL
