Thread Starter

my dd (5,5 yrs. old) has dirrhea since this morning, light color. with pain in the gut and tummy. she sleeps right now, she was not dizzy or anything.

she probably got ecoli bacterias from the swimming pool in the apartment comlex where we went yesterday.

can you recommend any medicine???

i have this fight with her dad (doctor) who wants to give her antibiotics! (which i dont see the need for...)

If she's only had diarrhea since this morning, there is no need to give her anything at all. Just make sure she is getting plenty of fluids and staying hydrated, and you can follow the brat diet (bananas, rice, apples, herbal tea) for the diarrhea.

Diarrhea is how the body gets rid of something that is harmful for it. You wouldn't want to stop that up.

I wouldn't do anything other than give lots of liquids and fluids and the BRAT diet (if she will eat that).

We've been using coconut water for hydration at times like these.  Maybe probiotics.  Hope your little one is feeling better soon!
