Bellingham preschool/kindergarten rec's

We are planning a move to Bellingham next spring and I'm looking for a school for my then 5 yr old daughter. I'm looking for a progressive school w/ an emphasis on social emotional development which also welcomes parental involvement. 

Does anyone have any experience with;

Bellingham Cooperative School

Madrona School

River School?

Also are some public elementary schools more progressive than others?
