Congratulations Saoirse on the new arrival.

My 2012 arrival is still cooking but I have a giant baby bump now and lots of baby kicks. Rubbing my tummy and sending baby dust and vibes to all.

Quick word of advice, anyone?

I'm CD6 and had what felt like a strong O pain this morning. I tested with two different brands of OPKs, one was blazingly positive, one was negative. No chance of BD this am... DH has a meeting, I'm teaching.

The OPK that came up positive was from one of those kits where you get 30 test strips in a canister -- and once you open the canister, they're only supposed to be good for 30 days. It's been more than 30 days (who uses 30 test strips in one month?). I think I'm going to buy another kit this afternoon and try testing again.

I've never O'd before CD10 before, what's the deal here? If I had a chemical last month, could that cause me to O early? I'd love to hear if anyone has had experience with this...

Fingers crossed I haven't missed my egg this month!

Oh my, that is one Beau-tiful baby! I want one too!

Litmama, do you think it could just be an early surge? A couple of days ago I got tingling breasts and fertile mucus - I was day 8 or 9, so did an opk, which wasn't positive (but it was in the morning), and I wondered if as we get older, the body might have a few tries at surging before letting the egg go? I have also heard of double ovulations, sometimes a week or two apart. Of course this could be "an old wives tale", but I do know someone in RL who swears her twins where the result of two ovulations over a two week span. Obviously they are non-identical,and she's sure that one was more ready than the other at birth. Of course it might just be speculation! lol

It does seem very early to O, do you take your temperature? I do find that it helps me discern what is going on, because the temperature rise can confirm whether or not I have ovulated.

Saoirse Wow what an awesome little guy you have there! Congratulations and thank you so much for sticking with us and keeping us updated. Whoever said i want one too took the words right out of my mouth!!!! Enjoy that little bundle of love, and so great to hear you had him at home. I can't wait until I finally get my home birth!

For this speculating on those early o signs. My experience has been that after 40 my cycle changed and the first sign was an early o date. There were months it was as early as cd8. My TCM provider straightened it out back to cd 13-15 but this past several months I think almost the past year it's gotten later and later cd22 or so. Sucks but just part of the process.

Saorise, congratulations!   joy.gif    So, so happy for you... love the pic, he's so adorable.  Did you decide on a name?

Well, I was going to come on a little later and do a proper update, since it's been a long time since I've posted anything... but I just realized my ticker is giving me away, ha ha!  (I was going to wait a bit, until after my u/s this Friday).  But, yeah, at age 41 (nearly 42!), after having infertility issues plus nursing my DS regularly, I'm pregnant!  I was on my 8th post-partum cycle.  DH and I are so excited!  We were gearing up for IVF, too... so this is pretty incredible.  I'm still extremely nervous, since I had a chemical just in August and before I had DS, I had a m/c at 6 weeks... So far, so good.  We still haven't told our families, I've only told two close friends of mine.  We're hoping and praying that we get good news this Friday, I'll be 7 weeks and 5 days.

I see there's plenty of other good news on here, too!  This is so encouraging... Best wishes to all!

Purplefish, I keep thinking of your post yesterday and forgot to respond. I love thinking of you having a big baby bump and someone giving you baby kicks. love.gif  I don't see your EDD on the front page. I know some folks don't like to give them, so no worries if that's you. Can you tell us about how far along in the baby growing you are?

Congratulations Tenzinsmama. Wonderful news. This board is so full of creativity and fecundity!

I love it.
