At 1:40am on Saturday I woke with a small gush of water down my legs. I woke my husband and had him call my midwife. She said to call when contractions started and we tried to go back to bed and get some rest but contractions started 20 min.s later at 2am.
My husband and I were in a little denial that this was it, I was only 38 weeks + 2 days and had gone to term and beyond with my two older kids. Dh packed up the kids and called my dad to pick them up while I brushed my teeth and got some last minute things ready. My midwife called and said she was coming now because of my quick labor with my 2nd baby. I got in the shower and she arrived while I was in there. It takes a long time to shower while you are laboring!
This labor was so different from my other two, the contractions were all over the place this time. Before they had come on strong and regular right away, but this time some were short and strong and others were long and mild. My midwife checked me and said baby was not engaged and she couldn't get dilation because my cervix was high and tilted. I thought I might be in for a longer labor than I'm used to.
So I labored around while she rested and contractions became regular pretty quickly after that. I had a particularly gnarly one while sitting down, So I decided to stay on my feet, walking and leaning mostly. The pain never became unmanageable for me this time. With my first pushy contraction I headed into my birth room and my midwife got ready. I kept thinking, "why is she putting on her gloves already?" Then I started shaking and really vocalizing through each one and I knew it wasn't going to be a long labor after all. With my next contraction I felt a tremendous urge to push and my body began pushing something out so fast I clenched my legs together because I thought the baby was going to fall out on the floor. It was was just the amnionic sack bulging out and what seemed like a gallon of water splashed on the floor. After that contraction I decided I would push the baby out on hands and knees on the bed. I had birthed my other two on my back and wanted to do it differently this time, but with my next contraction I just couldn't get myself to get to hands and knees and just laid on the bed and pushed baby out in two pushes, one for the head and one for the body.
She was born at home at 6:26am on July 2nd after 4 1/2 hours of labor weighing 8 lb.s even. We're still working on a name for her. She's nursing really well after a very sleepy couple of days.

Hope you and unnamed baby have a wonderful babymoon!
