Head to Toe Rash on 2 month old

Last week my 2 year old spiked a fever to 102.9 and two day later was covered in a rash... it had the look of fifths but could have been anything viral.  This morning my 2 month old was covered with a head to toe rash.  It is flat, lacy, red and blanches when I touch it...  (thank goodness!).  She is happy and acting normally and my instinct is telling me she is fine.  I called my Midwife and she said she agreed I'm probably right but told me to check with my ped just to be safe.  I spoke with the nurse and my ped requested to see me tomorrow but didn't think it was urgent.

Just wondering if anyone else has had a viral rash with one so small... need something to keep me from searching the internet and freaking myself out convinced of the worst!  Sometimes, I get the best of myself on darned Google!

sounds like roseola....did the baby have  fever too or just the rash. My #3yr odl has fifths right now. There are tons of "nonspecific" viral rashes out there that have no name either. if it were me and my baby was that samll id probably have them looked at for piece of mind, but I wouldn't worry. Most likely a viral rash and it will go away on its own!

Thanks for the reply Manica!

You were right, both had Roseola.  The doctor said it was textbook looking and she wished she could take a picture of it.  She really does look terrible but is happy as a clam.
