Is it possible to potty train a child who doesn't have communication skills?

I know the answer and I suppose it is no but I will ask if anyone has ad some sort of success. My dd 27 months (pdd-nos aka autism). She has no words and doesn't appear to understand me pretty much ever. She sees me in the bathroom and she climbs up on my lap. She kicks and wriggles as it is changing diapers so it would be nice if she could do it on her own.

Anyone with success stories (or any stories)

It's definitely possible! I don't have any experience with EC & autism but I have heard of people having a lot of success with it. Communication can happen in lots of different ways, and EC is a great way to encourage communication with children of all ages, including autistic kids. I'm going to try to find some resources for you...sorry I don't have any specific advice or anything, I just wanted to put in an encouraging word because I know I've heard about EC working well for special needs kids.
