but, I was wondering what the timelines are on bannings. This is really just out of curiosity and wonder. I have no real opinion on how it works, Im just wondering how banning works here.

When someone is banned, how long are they banned for?
Why can we still see their profile?
If I can still see their profile, does it mean that they have a temporary ban and they will be able to come back?
If someone is permenantly banned is their profile deleted?

Again, just curious.

It really depends on the circumstances that led to the ban. We don't have any hard and fast rules and we will reconsider a ban and allow someone to return as a member if we reach an agreement about their posting behavior and membership intentions. 

You continue to see their profile because the ban only restricts them from access. It does not remove their account.
