Doctor's visit

Hi everyone. I am new to this (forum and pregnancy both). Found out I was pregnant on Monday and am now 12 dpo.

I went to the doctor today for a blood and urine test. The urine was negative, but the nurses blew it off, said not to worry since it is early and wait for the blood test results. Took a test at home about an hour later and it was positive and dark. I have to wait until the Friday to hear back about the blood test. 

I am worried, not that I am not pregnant but that if the levels are low that could be a bad sign. I have been reading so much (too much) online about miscarriage and have now gone from worried to really worried. Really there's nothing I can do, but I guess I am just hoping for support.

If the nurses blew it off, it may be that their urine test isn't incredibly sensitive. You're still early, too. After 14 dpo you have better luck of getting a positive on a urine test.

ozzy, yes, I agree; it is way too early for the doc's urine test to show a positive.  You really have to wait until 14 DPO or later.  I am having to remind myself of that, too!!  I got my BFP at 12 DPO and was freaked out when the less-sensitive dollar store test showed BFN.  I am waiting until probably Monday to go to the doctor (18 DPO) to take their test.  If you haven't gotten your period by 14 or 15 DPO, you are more than likely pregnant!  Welcome!!!

Thanks for the replies, I'm starting to feel better, trying to RELAX a little. My husband is really excited and every time he says I love you touches my stomach and says sheepishly "I love you too baby!" and I keep thinking oh no, if something happens...

I know it's the hormones but that made me tear up.

I found out at 10dpo that I was pg. I just so happened to have an appt with my RE that day and I showed them the test and they made me pee again, neg. But today my beta is 7000, so!!

Played phone tag with the doctor's office all day Friday and they left a message saying the blood test confirms I am pregnant (duh!), and to call back to schedule the appointment for 6-8 weeks. I'm guessing that means other than being pregnant the test looked okay? ~Going to be doing a lot of deep breathing over the next few weeks!

Sounds like everything is good! I'm sure they would have scheduled you sooner if there was a problem, or had you talk to the doctor. Now, relax and let yourself be happy about it!
