Looking for other unschoolers, natural learners, whatever in this area!  I live in Hudson, WI and there are a ton of homeschoolers here, but after a few years at this all I ever find are the very structured, curriculum crazy, very Christian homeschoolers, which is not my family at all. Just wondering if anyone out there is in the area and looking for another family to share stories with!   I would love, love, love to find other families who homeschool because they believe in child-led learning than for other reasons!  Â

There is a small group of Unschoolers in the Twin cities. They have a yahoo group, ( Urban Unschoolers) but they are small. I did not really find what I was looking for there, but you may. I did find a group that is very eclectic, I unschool, some use curriculum, some are eclectic learners, some are christian, some are not, some are liberal, some are conservative, but I'll tell you, we have the best time together! I look forward to our weekly meetings, and they are a great support for learning and for all the other things that go with parenting/teaching our children 24/7. We are based in the northern twin cities suburbs ( Fridley) our Yahoo page is (L)earning (W)ith(O)ut (L)imits. The twin cities has many classes geared towards homeschoolers at our parks, a lot of homeschoolers/unschoolers with kids 6 and up seem to connect through these classes and events. I would check out places like the Three Rivers park system, and some of our museums like the Bell natural history museum and MIA. Many of the offers homeschool classes. I know its a drive from Hudson, but you may meet some families closer to you. How old are your kids?

Hi, we're an unschooling family in White Bear Lake and attend an eclectic homeschool park time on Wednesday afternoons. One family, relaxed homeschoolers, travel from Hudson. Here's the link if you'd like to check it out:
