One note is that I did use Hypnobabies, but I was not at all the ideal HB student. With my first birth whenever I noticed that someone used hypnosis I didn't even bother reading the story because it seemed kind of kooky, and besides it wasn't applicable to me because I wasn't doing that. Well, that first birth taught me that I do NOT know how to relax. I used hypnobabies more as a structured method to learn relaxation techniques than as an actual hypnosis program. I don't know if I was ever hypnotized, and I wouldn't say my birth was pain free. But I was very relaxed and confident. This birth is night and day different from my first one. Is it all due to Hypnobabies, no. But I think it did help.
