Hi,
I just had a couple of random thoughts and wanted to put my questions out here. When we got pregnant the first time around (2 yrs ago), I called our sperm bank immediately to report the pregnancy. We were very excited, particularly b/c it had taken several months, etc. I remember having high expectations when I placed the call to the bank.....thinking they would be excited, offer congrats, etc. Then the guy who answered the phone was so non-chalant about it - said thanks for letting them know and got off the phone. Totally not a big deal, but I'm wondering if anyone else was surprised by the laid-back attitude of their sperm bank, or better, got a very excited "congrats" on the other end of the phone!!! I seriously thought they'd send us a congratulatory card or something like that - maybe my expectations were way off (obviously!). This hasn't really bugged me for 2 years - I just thought about it again recently and wondered if all banks are the same.
The other question - have you ever forgotten to report a pregnancy to the sperm bank? We're almost halfway through our current pregnancy and I just realized we need to call the sperm bank to report it. I wonder how many people forget to do this, so that makes me wonder how accurate their counts are.
Anyway, just random thoughts.......
