Indestructible Watch for Down Syndrome Aspie Girl

Thread Starter

I am hoping y'all have some ideas on how to find a good digital watch that my daughter can't break easily.  She has Down Syndrome and Aspergers along with related anxiety issues. She is a "picker" not a "flapper" as far as behaviors go.

She needs one that can have at least one daily alarm to set for taking her meds each afternoon. She is almost 23 but developmentally about 2nd grade, but wants very much to be as independant as possible. We have tried buying watches for her but she always breaks something critical within the first week. We can't afford keep buying more watches on top of everything else we end up having to replace. Any suggestions?

My husband is really into watches and broke about everything as a kid.  He says the Iron Man series (Timex Triathalon watches) are really tough to break, but that she might need help programming it for the medication alarms.

Sophie's not old enough to need a watch yet, but she has several older sibs who are super-hard on electronics of all sorts. The only watch that has lived longer than a few months in our house is a Timex Indiglo.
