Looking for online Christian resources

Thread Starter

Does anyone know of any good online resource on gentle Christian parenting?  My husband and I are looking to expand our parenting skills.  We really need a new skill set to parent effectively.  We are really looking for some sort of free online class or ebook or something similar. Our kids range in age from toddler to teen, and we could use help with all the stages! :P  My husband loves books/webcasts he can download to his ipod and listen to while at work.  Websites are good, too, but we would love to find something with a biblical basis.  Thanks!

Grace Based Parenting and Give Them Grace are both great Gospel-centered parenting books.  I'm not sure if there are audio versions out there for you DH, but they are both worth reading!

I wish I knew of some too!  I love to listen to Focus on the Family, but that's on the radio, and i've never heard much about parenting, mostly about family as a whole, or marriage.

These are the resources I've collected:

In addition, there's the Kimmel book someone cited above (which I haven't read, but it's on my list), and several other books:

The Complete Book of Christian Parenting and Child Care: A Medical and Moral Guide to Raising Happy Healthy Children by Martha & William Sears

Positive Discipline in the Christian Home: Using the Bible to Develop Character and Strengthen Moral Values by Jane Nelsen, Cheryl Erwin, Michael Brock and Mary L. Hughes

I suspect some of these books are available in audiobook format. Jane Nelsen has a parenting podcast. (Most of her books are not Christian focused, but I think she did this one specifically for parents who were looking for Christian resources.)

Have you checked out the Gentle Christian Mothers website and forum? I haven't read everything there but I know they have AP and GD-themed articles on a bunch of different parenting topics.

Bill and Martha Sears also have a book on Christian parenting, The Complete Book of Christian Parenting and Childcare.
